Wyoming Pup Can't Find a Home Due To Her 'Crooked Face'

Cheyenne, Wyoming's Black Dog Animal Rescue posted one of their very special adoptable dogs who needs a forever home for Christmas.

Martha has bounced from foster homes, to shelters, to failed adoptions through no fault of her own and one of the reasons the rescue thinks she's having a hard time finding a family to love her is due to her precious crooked face.

According to Cowboy State Daily, the shelter put out a press release which read, "Wyoming’s Homeliest Dog To Spend Christmas Without A Home. Still."

This adorable dog has a crooked face due to a birth defect or trauma, the rescue Black Dog said.

The press release also stated that “Is she going to win any beauty contests? Probably not,” said Emilee Intlekofer, the Executive Director of Black Dog.

“But, we all know it’s what’s inside that counts and Martha has loads of heart and personality to share,” Intlekofer said. “Her foster home and our staff absolutely adore her and would love nothing more than to see her find a home in time for the holiday.”

Martha is presumed to be a shepherd/pit bull mix and weighs about 70 pounds.

Black Dog recommends she be adopted by a family with older children and no cats.

Here's why you should adopt a shelter dog if you are planning on getting a dog for Christmas

If you plan on placing a pooch under your Christmas tree, you should visit all the beautiful dogs at your local animal shelter or Humane Society. Shelters are so overcrowded right now, and even at the best shelters where dogs are given lots of attention and exercise most dogs would rather be anywhere else. Shelters are loud, with different smells and many dogs get stressed out in these situations.

There are shelter dogs that would be perfect for your family, whether you have young kids, other dogs or cats. Your local shelter can pair you with a dog that fits your lifestyle, whether you want a running buddy or a dog who can be your Netflix binge watching partner.

Last but not least, shelter dogs seem to understand they have been given a second chance at having a family to love and care for them, and one look in their eyes shows you how thankful they are.
