World-famous Lego builder coming to Topeka Zoo

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A five-month master Lego exhibit opens this weekend in Topeka.

Sean Kenney has been recognized by the likes of the Smithsonian Magazine, the Washington Post and Business Insider for his Lego sculptures of animals. He will bring his traveling exhibition to the Topeka Zoo to display creatures that have their own “superpowers” and the science behind them.

“Working with the Topeka Zoo has been a wonderful experience, especially since they share our passion for community involvement,” Manager of Customer Operations for Giant Communications Norm Johnson said in February 2024. “We couldn’t be more excited to build something at the Topeka Zoo.”

Topeka Zoo spokeswoman Fawn Moser said earlier this year the exhibit will show evolutionary, biological and environmental reasons for adaptations in the natural world. It will send attendees on a trip to several buildings throughout the zoo.

The exhibit will be open to all visitors with general admission tickets starting April 20 through Sept. 9. To learn more about Sean Kenney’s Animal Superpowers exhibit click here.
