Apr. 30—The Cherokee District Women's Missionary Auxiliary provides encouragement to one another and to the community through the combined efforts of the associated churches.

The group met Sunday, April 7 at Sardis Baptist Church with President Cindy Allen, of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Jacksonville, presenting the devotion. Her topic was "Memorials" based on Joshua 4:1-7. Allen discussed how everyone has stones in their lives that show the power, care and provision of God. As Israel erected a memorial of stones in the middle of the Jordan River to remind them how God cut off the water so they could carry the ark of the covenant and cross, she encouraged those present to share their testimonies of God's goodness with those around them.

Special music was provided by Jerri Brandenberg.

Each church brought home-baked cookies, wrapped in packages of two, for Jacksonville College students and staff, which Allen will deliver on behalf of the auxiliary.

Churches are requested to bring Kleenex tissues and disinfectant wipes for the next quarterly outreach project. The collected items will be distributed to Jacksonville schools.

Business at the meeting included the approval of minutes and the treasurer's report. It was announced that any child below third grade may attend, with adult supervision, the Texas Sunbeam house party to be conducted at Jacksonville College June 28-29. Other events include the Texas WMA Ladies Retreat, July 19-20 in Conroe, with early registration ending May 31; and the Texas BMA meeting November 18-19, in Jacksonville.

The next quarterly meeting of the auxiliary will be hosted by Afton Grove Baptist Church July 9.
