Women Who Rescued One-Winged Bumblebee Gives a Highly Anticipated Update

Bumblebees are fun to watch buzz around flowers, but would you consider one as a pet? Back at the beginning of August, a woman was on a walk and stumbled across a bumblebee who seemed to follow her. Turns out this bumblebee only had one wing and needed help.

TikToker @Katha decided to try to save the bumblebee and named her Sweet Pea. She took her home and gave her sugar water, fresh flowers, and even made her a little place to rest. Katha provided a 4-week update for all of us, and it looks like Sweet Pea is doing great!

@Katha's initial video she shared about finding Sweet Pea got more than 44 million views! People were so interested in hearing the one-winged bumblebee's story and so her 4-week update got close to a million views and almost 3 thousand comments (the first video got almost 80 thousand comments!)

We're all now invested in Sweet Pea! People love this story and appreciated the update. One commenter got close to 4 thousand likes for their comment, "There literally isn’t anything that makes me happier than seeing her covered in pollen doing a little wiggle." I agree! @userninad shared a great idea, "Amazing, you need to write a children’s book about Sweet Pea!"

Commenters also said that most bees have a 4-week lifespan, which sparked conversation. Several people said bees can live up to a year. I'm not sure, but if she's being given food, water, and shelter and doesn't have to worry about predators, I'm hoping she'll be around for even longer!
