Why ‘Today’s Willie Geist Thinks Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are Just Pranking Us All

Willie Geist isn't so sure that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored relationship is for real.
The Today personality shared his "theory" on the matter during a guest appearance on the Oct. 4 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
"I don’t know exactly what’s going on. I do have a little bit of a theory. I hope it’s not controversial. I’m happy for both of them. They seem like great people," he said.
"Is there any chance that this is all one big Capital One commercial?" Geist continued, poking fun at the pop star's partnership with the financial institution, "In other words, are we going to go through weeks of this and at the end, they turn to the camera and say, ‘What’s in your wallet?’” he joked.
Fallon wasn't falling for it, "No, no, I don't think–I think this [relationship] is real."
"Do you think it's real?" Geist, now seemingly very serious, questioned. To which the comedian replied, "I think it's as real as it can be."
Geist agreed, and the two's debate turned into a rather sweet moment gushing over the NFL star and the Grammy winner.
"And I think they're both cool people," Fallon added.
"Very cool," the 48-year-old morning anchor interjected.
"It's almost like when you see two people," The Tonight Show host went on, "that you go like, 'They should date.'"
"Yeah, no, I'm totally on board," Geist agreed. "I just want to put it in the universe, if it happens [the Capital One commercial], that I was right."
