Why Savannah Chrisley Is ‘Hopeful’ Her Parents Todd and Julie Will Be Released From Prison Early

Savannah Chrisley has hope that her parents’ time in prison could soon be coming to an early end.
The reality TV star has advocated for her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, since they were convicted on bank fraud and tax evasion charges in June 2022.
Todd, who was before his conviction known for being a real estate tycoon and for leading his family’s Chrisley Knows Best reality TV show, was sentenced to 12 years behind bars. He began serving time in January 2023 at a prison in Pensacola, Fla. Julie received a seven-year sentence, which she began serving in January 2023 at a prison in Lexington, Ky. They each had two years shaved off their sentences last fall.
Savannah, 26, first revealed in November 2023 that her parents would soon have a chance to appeal their convictions. At the time, she said an appeals court granted her family’s legal team’s request to present oral arguments in the case this spring.

This kind of opportunity “represents a critical moment in every case,” Savannah said in an Instagram update on Nov. 20, 2023.
About four months later, Savannah remains excited and hopeful about her parents’ chances.
"Looking forward to our appeal April 19,” she told Entertainment Tonight, adding that she has “hope” her parents will be home “maybe later in the summer.”
In addition to her efforts to support her family’s legal team, Savannah has stayed busy by raising her younger brother and niece, who were left in her custody when her parents went to prison. She has also made efforts to keep her parents feeling positive as they serve time, as evidenced by her recent appearance on The Masked Singer.
Savannah told Parade earlier this week that her mom watched her March 13 episode and later “called me and was dying laughing.” The initial trepidation Savannah recalled feeling at participating in the singing competition show “was so worth it” for that reason, she said.
