Jennifer Lopez doesn't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

The 54-year-old singer and actress recently opened up about the future of her already successful career, and from the sound of things, she is hoping to be entertaining us for a long time.

"I see myself working [as long as] I want to," J.Lo spilled to ELLE in a new interview published Thursday, Nov. 30. "I don’t know what that age is. It might be 70, it might be 80, it might be 90, I don’t know. But I know that it’s there for me if I want it and I want to create it."

The Shotgun Wedding star went on to explain that she doesn't ever want to feel limited because of her age, telling the outlet, "That has always been the mindset that I’ve had: to never let anybody put me in a box because of where I was born, where I’m from, what age I am, anything like that."

"Those boundaries don’t exist for me," she asserted.

But when looking toward the future of the rest of her career, the "Let's Get Loud" songstress said there's always the potential for her to mix things up, and she definitely wants to "keep evolving" as the years go on.

"Whether I'll take the helm and direct my own film at one point is a possibility," she teased. "I've talked about it.

Lopez said she's been offered directing roles before, which she has always turned down as a result of time constraints.

"I can't tell you, ‘I’m going to direct three movies, and I’m going to do this, and I’m going to do that," she continued. "But I can say that I will keep evolving as an artist and as a performer and producer and in all of the ways to create the projects that I decide to be involved with."

"I hope that that never stops," she added.

For right now, Lopez is currently gearing up to release a new album, This Is Me...Now, marking her first full-length album in nine years.

The new project is believed to be a sequel to her 2002 album This Is Me...Then, which she dedicated to her partner at the time, Ben Affleck, whom she wound up marrying nearly 20 years—and several other relationships—later.

This Is Me...Now will also be released with a documentary film to go with it, which will be able to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video beginning Feb. 16, 2024.
