From 'Young Sheldon'

Young Sheldon is off this week for a reason that would really annoy Sheldon Cooper. In fact, you could say it would give the sports-hating science prodigy his own version of March Madness.

Young Sheldon will not air on Thursday, March 28 due to CBS’ continuing coverage of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament.

The comedy series’ usual 8 p.m. ET time slot will be filled by the No. 2 seed Arizona Wildcats taking on the No. 6 seed Clemson Tigers as part of the tournament’s Sweet 16 round. The game will tip off at 7:09 p.m. ET, and will be followed by North Carolina vs. Alabama at 9:39 p.m. Therefore, CBS’ entire Thursday primetime lineup of Young SheldonGhosts, So Help Me Todd, and Elsbeth will be preempted.

If you’re not in the Eastern time zone, check your local listings to see what will air in place of Young Sheldon.

Young Sheldon was also off last week due to March Madness.

New episodes will resume on April 4, with the sixth episode of the show’s seventh and final season. Titled “Baptists, Catholics and an Attempted Drowning,” the episode will find Mary Cooper (Zoe Perry) at odds with Mandy’s mom Audrey McAllister (Rachel Bay Jones) over Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy’s (Emily Osment) wedding plans, with baby CeeCee caught in the middle.

Georgie and Mandy’s wedding is a major event that will set up their upcoming, as-yet-untitled spinoff, which will be the third series in the Big Bang Theory franchise. The spinoff, which is slated to premiere on CBS in the 2024-25 season, will follow Sheldon’s (Iain Armitage) brother and sister-in-law as they raise their family in Texas.

Young Sheldon’s series finale will air on May 16.

While you wait for Young Sheldon to return, you can catch up with Season 7 episodes on Paramount+ and past seasons on Netflix and Max.
