Sinead O'Connor's daughter, Roisin Waters, is honoring her mother's musical legacy.

On Wednesday night, March 20, the singer performed a tribute concert for the late Irish star, whom passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 56.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad," her family said in a statement to RTE at the time. "Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

Eight months after O'Connor's untimely death, her second-born child delivered a moving rendition of her song, "Nothing Compares 2 U," evoking a major reaction from both the audience in attendance and the internet, alike.

In video footage from the event, which was shared via YouTube by a fan in the crowd, Waters can be seen walking barefoot around the stage at Carnegie Hall in New York City, donning a colorful floral slip dress as she belts out her mom’s 1990-released worldwide smash hit.

The display prompted a wave of emotions from social media users, who took to the comment section to express their thoughts on her "brave and beautiful singing."

"Roisin moves like her mother ❤️❤️ Such a poignant tribute," one top-liked reaction read, while another added, "Barefoot like her Momma! Beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for this."

A third chimed in with, "Brave and beautiful singing. Well done Róisín. This is more of what the world needs. May your gorgeous mother Sinéad fly high with the heavenly angels. I think of her every time I pass Deansgrange cemetery. Beautiful, intelligent, inspiring woman."

"Wow. Goosebumps all over from the first lines to the last. Fantastic tribute to one of the greatest singers to ever grace our ears. Just beautiful," someone else complimented, while yet another called the emotional performance "healing."

As Parade previously reported, following her death, a coroner confirmed that the artist—who had become known for not only her musical talent, but her unwavering activism—passed away from natural causes.
