The North Shore's Mason Ho is a fan fave when it comes to pro surfers. He's got personality, he shreds, and he's a Ho who rips hard enough to pay respect to his legendary last name every session he has.

Ho recently ripped single fins, twins, and thrusters at the Maldivian right, Sultan's, during the super exclusive Four Seasons Maldives Surfing Champions Trophy.

Before that, he surfed his way through Indo with surf buddy Clay Marzo, getting perfect tubes at spots like Padang Padang and Desert Point.

But in the latest video released today by Jack Coleman, we're treated to a flashback of Ho taking the win at one of the most respected comps on the North Shore where Ho was born and raised—Da Hui Backdoor Shootout.

Coleman captioned the video above:

"Mason Ho's legendary performance takes the win at Da Hui Backdoor Shootout 2022 Event announcing by [Hawaiian pro bodyboarder] Kainoa McGee."

The edit above is just under three minutes of Ho getting shacked over and over again on a lot of lefts at Pipe, and a couple at Backdoor near the end.

For anyone not familiar with the world-famous surf break, Backdoor is the righthander that breaks off the same peak as Pipeline, which is the left.

In the end, Ho took the win, New York's Balaram Stack took second, and two-time world champ John John Florence finished third.

The love people surfers have for Ho is apparent in the comments below:

"The most entertaining surfer on the planet."

"I could watch this all day! ps. thanks for reposting this stuff Mason is phenomenal!"
