Watch: Big Wave Surfers Score XXL Dream Session at Cloudbreak

Cloudbreak has been stealing the, ahem, thunder in the surf world over the last week or so.

North Shore big wave surfer Nathan Florence had the "session of a lifetime," Soli Bailey is "still shaking" from his Fijian bomb from the same swell, and we saw Billy Kemper wipeout hard and eat sh*t during the session.

The latest footage from the XXL swell that's had us in awe comes from big wave hunter Tim Bonython, who has a fascination with the world's biggest and heaviest waves.

Bonython captioned his latest release above:

"This Swell Chase takes the award for one of the best paddle sessions I’ve EVER filmed. Ask Nathan Florence, Billy Kemper, Jo Jo Roper, Benji Brand, Soli Bailey & the Coffin brothers.

"Cloudbreak was at its absolute dreamy best. Having arrived back into Sydney on the Monday after 5 months in Europe to catching an early flight out the following morning to Fiji. 2 days later on Thursday the 7th of March this edit shows how historic this day was. Enjoy."

The footage is amazing, and worth a watch. All 36 minutes of it.

Post session, Florence says:

"I've been a part of a lot of big wave sessions, and bigger sessions for sure where there was bigger heavier waves and maybe, the rides if they ever went down.

"But to me, the level of surfers out, the conditions, and the size of the swell which came in over forecasted was just condensed to make a session that was guaranteed to be historical.

"Every single person that entered the water and rode of a wave got pretty much one of the waves of their life. Usually one guy gets the wave of the day, but it was wave of the day, after wave of the day, after wave of the day.

"I've got the best waves I ever had this trip for sure."
