Walmart Is Selling 'Very Comfortable' $20 Footbed Sandals So Similar to Birkenstocks That Are 5x the Price

Birkenstock sandals are a kind of “elevated” comfortable sandal for warm weather. They’re easy to slip on and off but they’re a bit cuter (and, again, way more comfortable) than flip-flops. Birkenstocks are also a lot more expensive, though. Luckily, Walmart is selling footbed sandals that look so similar to one of Birkenstock’s asymmetrical designs and it’s only a fraction of the price.
One of Walmart’s clothing brands, Time and Tru, is currently selling the Women's Asymmetric Strap Footbed Sandals for $19.98. As the name suggests, it’s a footbed sandal designed with two thin straps coming together to cross over the big toe, with another strap wrapped right above the ankle. Walmart’s site says that the straps are made from fake leather and the footbed—even though it has the look of Birkenstocks and their cork footbed—is made of EVA material (which is the same material on the bottom of real Birks).

Time and Tru Women's Asymmetric Strap Footbed Sandals, $19.98 at Walmart
Walmart’s sandal comes in sizes 6 to 11 and in five colors: black, cognac, coral, gold and white. There are also wide widths available in certain sizes and colors. And the reviews seem to be positive, with a lot of them talking about how comfortable they are. One person wrote about how they wore the sandals to the zoo and didn’t get one blister.
“Love the adjustable straps,” another person wrote. “Arches fit perfectly and [the] insole is both cushiony and supportive. great start to [a] summer wardrobe.”
Another person wrote that they just purchased a new pair to replace their old one that lasted them five years. And someone else wrote that they fit so well that they’re happy with their $20 purchase.

Again, the Birkenstock shoe that Walmart’s sandals resemble so much is the Mayari Birkibuc sandal. They have the same asymmetrical strap design and the contoured footbed. Of course, as stated before, Birkenstock’s has a cork-latex footbed with an EVA bottom sole. Both are adjustable with buckles on the straps and Birkenstock’s sandals come in a slew of different colors and sizes.
For a sandal that looks so similar to the $99.95 Mayari Birkenstocks, Walmart’s Women's Asymmetric Strap Footbed Sandals are a great choice. For only $20, you’re getting a similar style made with different materials that does the same job. Worth a shot, we’d say.
