Virginia Beach park makes list for best place to spend Memorial Day

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — As Memorial Day approaches, families are looking for where to set up to celebrate.

A Virginia Beach park was voted as the best spot for families to spend Memorial Day.

First Landing State Park ranked No. 1 as the best spot to spend Memorial Day, according to a study done by MaxTour. With 20 miles of trails and 1.5 miles of sandy Chesapeake Bay beachfront, the spot was deemed perfect for hiking, picnics and enjoying the scenery.

The Outer Banks beaches also made the list at No. 9.
