Vinton Historical Museum hosting 35th-anniversary celebration

VINTON, Va. (WFXR)—The Vinton Historical Society is inviting the public to attend the 35th Anniversary Celebration of the Vinton Historical Museum on Monday, April 22 from noon to 6 p.m.

The museum, located in a home built in 1906, houses over 4,000 different artifacts and resources from the town’s history available for viewing.

During the anniversary celebration, door prizes will be distributed each hour for free. Prizes include Vinton Historical Society Annual memberships, Vinton Historical Landmark Woven Throw, Vintage Dogwood Festival plates, and more. Light refreshments will also be available throughout the afternoon.

The museum’s staff and volunteers will be ‘churning it up’ in an antique swing churn to kick-off of fundraising for the Cargo Accessibility Lift Project. The installation of the much-needed lift will enhance accessibility for visitors and volunteers.
