Sunny Hostin has admitted that she was “a little embarrassed” to reveal the events that led to the fiberglass cast she's recently been spotted wearing on her right arm.

In a candid new video that The View co-host shared on Instagram on Thursday, March 21, Hostin noted that she has received “so many messages” about her cast from worried viewers. She thanked fans for their concern before diving into the story about how it came to be on her arm.

“I was taking a virtual, by Zoom, indoor skating class in my home on hardwood floors, along with a group of friends in other places,” Hostin, 55, began. After putting on the skates she found in the attic of her home, the mother of two admitted that she hadn’t worn padding for the class even though her husband, Emmanuel Hostin, recommended that she do so.

“I fell,” she said simply. “So, as the adage goes, you play silly games and you win silly prizes. And this is my silly prize.”

Despite the inconvenience, Hostin said she has found some “upsides” to donning the cast. One benefit was that she has been able to get some of The View’s recent guests, including adult film actress Stormy Daniels and supermodel Gisele Bündchen, to sign her cast. Hostin declared that those signatures have made her “silly prize” a “historical” object.

The daytime talk show co-host will have plenty of time to add more autographs to her cast. According to Hostin, she was instructed to keep it on for about four weeks—an order that came following her attempt to fix the problem with a less intrusive air cast.

“I tried to get away with an air cast for two weeks, but apparently, I am a noncompliant patient, and I didn’t have it on 24/7,” Hostin explained. “Now the result is a fiberglass cast.”
