The sisterhood of The View is strong!

During a recent visit to the talk show Sherri, host Sherri Shepherd sat down with a current co-host of The View, Sunny Hostin, to talk about a variety of things.

One of the topics they discussed was The View and both women's history with the show, as Shepherd was also a permanent co-host from 2007 to 2014.

Hostin took a moment to highlight how Shepherd helped her during her contract negotiations, revealing her salary and those of other hosts so that Hostin could ensure fair pay.

"I don't even know if you remember this, but, when I signed my deal sheet you gave me a call. I don't know how you got my number," she said. "You were like, 'I heard you're coming on the show,' and I was like, 'Yeah, I'm joining the show.' She was like, 'Did they give you a car stipend?' I was like, 'No.'"

Hostin continued, describing how Shepherd went over past pay rates and contracts with her: "You basically went over your salary for the entire time you were there, and you also gave me [ex-View panelist] Jenny McCarthy's salary. You got me paid."

With Shepherd's help, Hostin was able to go back to her agent and ask for more money from The View.

Shepherd responded, "Rosie O'Donnell gave me everybody's salary and hers, and you've got to pay it forward. You've gotta stick together!"

O'Donnell left the show in 2007, the same year Shepherd joined. Hostin joined as a permanent co-host in 2016, two years after Shepherd left, and continues to host the talk show today.

The current The View hosts also include Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Whoopi Goldberg, although there have been many more throughout the show's more than 25 years on the air.
