Videographer Still Blown Away By Footage Of Enormous BMX Bleacher Gap

While mountain bikers pat themselves on the back for pushing the boundaries of what is possible on a bike, BMXers quietly ride gaps nearly as big on tiny little rigid bikes.

Mountain bike Videographer Logan Nelson discovered this when BMX rider Danny Griffith came to a stadium in his hometown of Bellingham and pulled for a mind-boggling bleacher gap. Watch the insane clip from Logan’s archives below.

In this video, Griffith hucked his BMX bike from the top of the first section of bleachers to the flat of the track. Even with the soft rubber, the forces from such a gap were too much and Danny fell off the bike.

Gaps like this really exemplify the BMX spirit. It was huge and a harsh bottom out and yet Griffith decided that it was worth sending it.

When mountain bikers think they are gnarly, they need only look at a BMX rider to see that it is a whole other world. How any of them have ankle bones left is a surprise to anyone.
