Video: Weird Wave Pro Surfer Ben Gravy Goes Under the Knife

Novelty wave and soft top connoisseur Ben Gravy is down for the count.

Not forever, but for around three months he'll be out of the water.

Earlier this week we reported that after suffering an injury he sustained from trying to stall in a barrel using the classic method of sticking one's arm in the wave, Gravy's going under the knife.

Gravy captioned his latest video above:

"I Tore My BICEP Muscle OFF THE BONE while Surfing

"Today's video is an update on how I Tore My Bicep Muscle Off the Bone while Surfing. This in jury is also know as a full distal biceps tendon rupture. It's actually a rather common, but rather serious injury that needs to be addressed with a few weeks of onset.

"I feel lucky to have the life I have & the people around me who make it possible to continue pushing forward. Thank you for the stoke & support Nub Nation. I'm not dreaming right now, but I will be soon. - Ben"

No word on how good the barrel was, but he does go for one last surf.

Hit play to join the fun.

As usual, Gravy's fans flooded the comments section with words of support. Here's a few:

"Mick Fanning ripped his hamstring off of the bone years ago while surfing. He came back and won 3 world titles. You can do this!"

"Getting old sucks! You'll be back in action in no time.... sending some healing vibes your way!!"

"Ben - sending you lots of love and good vibes. You got this. I’m 40 days sober thanks largely due to you and this amazing inspiring channel you put soo much of your energy into. I’m extremely grateful! And Thank You Jordan for taking care of my hero!"
