Vanna White

Vanna White has finally broken her silence on her Wheel of Fortune contract negotiations, admitting that the situation was initially "blown out of proportion."

Back in June, an insider with knowledge of the game show's production told Puck News that White was negotiating her contract while some execs at Sony had considered the possibility of eliminating her role. In September, it was confirmed that the longtime letter-turner had extended her contract for two more years after months of negotiations.

In a new interview with People, White explained the situation, noting that she found it difficult to read about the speculation of her future on the show online. "It was because people just have rumors," she said. "Everything is so blown out of proportion, not just with my stuff, with everybody's stuff."

As for her contract renewal, she said, "I'm not going to do anything I don't want to do or that I don't believe in. White added, "My mother taught me that at a young age and I'm sticking to my guns."

She did confess, however, that she considered leaving the show when host Pat Sajak announced his retirement. But with her new contract, she is content with her decision to stay as the series welcomes new host Ryan Seacrest in 2024.

"I'm just so happy that I have signed for two more years," she said. "I have this next year with Pat, and then I have two years after that, so I will be part of Wheel of Fortune, at least through 2026."
