Triple Frontier 2 is On The Way, Confirms Star

Triple Frontier is getting a sequel. That’s according to actor Charlie Hunnam, who headlined the star-studded 2019 Netflix blockbuster.

Speaking with The Mary Sue, Hunnam said of Triple Frontier 2 “[there’s] nothing guaranteed, but I just set up recently as the main producer on a potential sequel to Triple Frontier at Netflix.”

The original film sees Charlie Hunnam, Garrett Hedlund, Oscar Isaac, Pedro Pascal, and Ben Affleck as a former Special Forces team uniting for a big score.

Since, as Hunnam says, the sequel is in its “infancy." there’s no word yet on whether the boys will be back down another South American drug cartel leader, or if they’re heading off on new skirmishes.

The film was generally well-received, with a respectable 70% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes.

It also garnered 3.6 million views during its week of release, placing on the Netflix Global Top 10 from November 20 - November 26, 2019.

While Triple Frontier 2 is far from set in stone, Hunnam’s words are a positive first step in the process. Unlike the Batman return ruled out by George Clooney.
