Starbucks Refreshers are ideal for quenching your thirst on a hot summer day, so we didn't expect this new twist. The coffee chain is bringing the heat with its new Spicy Lemonade Refreshers, which feature a Spicy Chili Powder Blend. You'll be able to order the new drinks starting Tuesday, April 16. But if you're a little skeptical like I was, here's a rundown of what you can expect—and you might be surprised.

The new menu items include Spicy Dragonfruit, Spicy Pineapple, and Spicy Strawberry. Each is an original Refreshers flavor with an added Spicy Chili Powder Blend.

Spicy Dragonfruit, which was probably my favorite, has mango and dragonfruit flavors, lemonade, dragonfruit pieces, and the spice blend. Another top pick was the Spicy Strawberry, which has strawberry and acaí flavors, lemonade, strawberry pieces, and the spice blend. Pineapple and passionfruit flavors are combined with lemonade, pineapple pieces, and spice in the Spicy Pineapple Refresher.

The spice is subtle, so even if you're not a big fan of spicy food and drinks, they're worth giving a try. To me, they tasted like a spicy margarita without the tequila.

And if you'd like to bring some spice to your favorite coffee drinks, you can do that with the the new Spicy Cream Cold Foam. It's a classic cold foam with the added Spicy Chili Powder Blend. The new menu items are available at U.S. Starbucks locations for a limited time this spring, while supplies last.
