Travis Kelce Comments on the 'Weird' Way He Holds Taylor Swift's Hand

Travis Kelce has gotten wind of the funny comments made about the way he was spotted holding rumored new girlfriend Taylor Swift's hand during a recent date night, and the pro athlete doesn't disagree that the positioning may have looked a little odd.

Over the weekend, the unofficial couple was photographed while out for a date night in New York City, and fans were convinced the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was still in game mode, as he had the "Bad Blood" singer's hand sandwiched between his like a football at one point.

When the pictures emerged, fans noticed things like "his job is football. it's all he knows," or made jokes, such as one X (formerly Twitter) user, who noted, "I’m obsessed with this. My standards have risen - must be held and protected like a football."

Others theorized it was his "protective" nature kicking in, dropping comments like, "He does it when he needs to use the other hand, he switches hands so he doesn’t let go of her hands."

Someone else insisted, "He really really doesn't want to fumble this catch."

The snapshots were addressed during the Thursday, Oct. 19, episode of his and brother Jason Kelce‘s podcast New Heights, when their friend Brandon kicked off the conversation by praising Travis’ chivalry.

“He’s a door opener, he’s a f--king hand-holder. He crushed it,” Brandon said, adding that there seems to be "so much footage breaking down Travis Kelce’s hand-holding."

The Catching Kelce alum had to somewhat agree with the online banter, though, admitting of photographers' images, “Yeah, they caught me with some weird hand-holding poses there. That was crazy.”

Though rumors have been swirling for several weeks now that the two are dating, this set of shots was the first in which the pair was photographed together holding hands—a clear public display of affection.

To date, neither have officially addressed the situation or put a title on their blooming romance, but it can be assumed they are an item, especially considering the fact that Swift has been attending Kelce's NFL games alongside his family and friends.

The two-time Super Bowl champ is even planning on attending International shows along the "Cruel Summer" artist's Eras Tour, as was previously reported.
