The Trader Joe's Freezer Item That Sold Out Almost Immediately Is Finally Back in Stock

If you weren’t aware of it already, now might be the time to familiarize yourself with the recently viral kimbap from Trader Joe's. Earlier this summer, the popular neighborhood grocery chain released its latest frozen food snack, a Kimbap Korean Tofu and Vegetable Seafood Rice Roll, and the internet went absolutely berserk over the news. And after a brief stint of being completely sold out, the popular take on the Korean snack is finally back — though much sooner than expected.

The Trader Joe’s kimbap rice roll takes a veggie-forward approach to the popular Korean snack, one that can be kept in the freezer and heated up in the microwave whenever the craving strikes. Shipped directly to Trader Joe’s from their supplier in the Republic of Korea, TJ’s kimbap features an assortment of sautéed greens, crunchy root vegetables and crisp pickles around a base of braised tofu. It is then wrapped in a layer of rice and seaweed, then sliced into bite-sized rounds. The best part? TJ’s Kimbap only requires two minutes in the microwave before enjoying, making it a great option when you are on the go.

In a Reddit post dedicated to the return of the beloved snack, curious consumers who had yet to try the kimbap out for themselves had some valid concerns they needed answers to before taking the plunge.

“If you can purchase fresh kimbap, would you waste your money on these?” questioned a genuinely concerned customer. They continued to describe how their friend loves the instant pho at Costco, and how that friend settles for instant because “the closest pho restaurant is too far away.”

Thankfully, an experienced buyer of the popular Korean snack chimed in to offer some context. “Yes. I can’t get fresh kimbap for $3 at 11pm when the random craving strikes.” They continued, “I live like 5 minutes from an unofficial Koreatown and will likely add this to my list of things to stock in the freezer.”

Before you head out to stock up, make sure to reach out to your local Trader Joe’s just to make sure the kimbap is in fact in stock. If this restock ends up on enough people’s radar this week, supplies will definitely not last long, so you'll want to act fast. And while you’re there, pick up a 4-pack of the fan-favorite Speculoos Cookie Butter Beer — which is the perfect beverage to kick off the fall season.
