'Today's Craig Melvin Delights Fans With Kids' 'Back to School' Photos

Today's Craig Melvin is one of many parents sending their kids back to school this week!
The anchor shared his family's back to school photos on Instagram yesterday, Aug. 29, featuring his son, Delano, daughter, Sybil, and wife, Lindsay Czarniak.
In the first photo, the whole group posed together on their front porch, the kids holding chalkboard reading "First Day of" and their respective grades. The carousel also included solo photos for each child, smiling proudly with their own signs.
"Well…they’re off. We have a first and fourth grader," he wrote alongside their first day of school photos. "Yes, that’s a boot on Delano," he added, drawing attention to the walking boot on his son's foot. "Long story."
Melvin shared his suspicions for the cause of the injury in an interview with Today.com, revealing that it just happened over the weekend, while he was outside playing.
"He hurt himself on Sunday and was limping so Lindsay took him to the doctor yesterday. And lo and behold, he has to wear a boot for three weeks. Nothing like starting the first day with a boot on your ankle," he said.
"We are really trying to figure out exactly what happened. He was running and jumping," he continued. Now, he's left with a "nasty sprain."
While he's got "some butterflies" about heading into his new classroom, Melvin said Delano was ready for it. Sybil, too, was looking forward to meeting her new teacher and seeing her friends. "She very much enjoys the social aspect of school," he explained.
