"Time To Get Excited"- Canadian Resort Starts Snowmaking To Prepare For Opening Day

Lake Louise Ski Resort is gearing up for opening day.

The resort took to social media on Saturday, October 21st, 2023 to share an image of their snowmaking machines blasting sparkly clouds of white gold for the first time this season.

Take a look below and get excited! Winter '23-'24 is coming.

Lake Louise has been featured here on POWDER many times over the last couple of months due to a series of early-season storms that deposited fresh snowfall on the resort's peaks and higher altitude terrain.

It's not unusual for Lake Louise and the other ski resorts located near Banff, Canada to be amongst the first to record natural snowfall, but this preseason has seemed to be particularly active for our friends in the Great White North.

The Weather Channel is forecasting up to five inches of snow for Lake Louise over the next 48 hours with temps staying well below freezing over the next 7 days.

The consistently cold temps coupled with natural snowfall are a recipe for success if Lake Louise plans to hit their targeted opening day of November 10th, 2023.

It's exciting that skiers should be making turns at Lake Louise in as little as 18 days.

Winter is coming, are you ready?
