Timberland's Iconic Work Boots Now Come Dressed Up in Gleaming Patent Leather

Back in 2019, the Danish model and fashion designer Veneda Carter was browsing Poshmark when she happened upon a pair of vintage Timberlands for twenty bucks. It was a pretty good find, but for Carter, it was something more—the boots ignited a firestorm of inspiration that led to her new collaboration with the iconic New England footwear company. The Timberland x Veneda Carter collection, launching today, takes the spirit of that random vintage find and transforms it into something fresh, singular, and utterly contemporary.
It’s hard to freshen up a silhouette as beloved and familiar as the Timberland boot, but Carter has boldly reimagined the iconic 6-inch model with a glossy patent leather finish. The collection strikes the perfect balance between originality and tradition, injecting the rugged foundation with a high-fashion aesthetic. “It’s sporty yet elegant, and I loved the process of bringing it to life,” Carter told GQ.
The patent leather boots come in both black and wheat, the latter of which Carter has dubbed the “Glazed Donut” for its sumptuous veneer. "It felt like a refreshing twist,” Carter said, “[taking] something that is known for its utility and elevating it to feel more versatile.”
Despite the dressy sheen, the boots still retain all the sturdy, tough-as-nails attributes that have made Timbs a staple of Northeast winters for generations: they're waterproof, seam-sealed, and crafted using the same proprietary premium leather and PrimaLoft insulation as the originals. Dropping today at Timberland for $250 a pair, they're a touch pricier than Carter's Poshmark find, but well worth the price of admission for such a smart, sharp update on an all-time classic.
