Tim McGraw Delights Fans With 'Surprise Drop' of New Songs 'In the Spirit of Being Thankful'

Tim McGraw has an early holiday gift for his loyal fans, with the country superstar surprising everyone by releasing a new, unexpected EP called Poet's Resumé.

McGraw shared the news on social media on Tuesday, Nov. 21, with a sweet note, writing, "In the spirit of being thankful, I'm so grateful for all of you and the ways you have supported me, my family and my music thru the years. Here's a little surprise drop of a few songs you've never heard. Enjoy!"

He also shared the cover image for the EP, with McGraw sitting on a couch looking relaxed while seriously staring into the camera. In the Instagram caption, the singer simply wrote, "6 new songs out now!! #PoetsResume."

Fans appeared to be truly appreciative of both the new EP and McGraw as a person, with a few comments reading, "So cool! Thanks Tim! We are the lucky ones!" and "Grateful for you and your music 🫶🏻."

A similar comment read, "Grateful for you! Thank you for your beautiful, heartfelt songs🫶🏼 btw, this is so exciting!!"

"Yes, I've heard them,,and love every song Tim, your the best 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️," wrote another.

Many also shared their love for McGraw's family, including fellow country star Faith Hill and their three equally talented daughters. "You and your family are so deeply loved. We thank you also Tim ,Faith and girls," shared a follower.

"You and @faithhill will forever be my favorite❤️," declared a different fan.

The new EP, Poet's Resumé, features six tracks: "Runnin' Outta Love," "Hurt People," "20 For 30," "One Bad Habit," "Been Around A While" and "Poet's Resumé."

The surprise release comes not long after McGraw's newest album, Standing Room Only, was released on Aug. 25, with the 13-track album his 16th solo album overall. The country singer is also set to embark on the Standing Room Only Tour next year, with the tour kicking off on Mar. 14.
