Things to do this weekend: Yoga, strawberry festival, ArtsFest
(WHTM) – The final weekend in May is here and for many it’s a long one with Monday, May 27 being Memorial Day.
In the Midstate, there are festivals and parades, yoga classes, carriage rides and more happening this weekend.
Harrisburg area
SpringGate Strawberry Festival – SpringGate Vineyard is hosting its Strawberry Festival from Friday, May 24 – Sunday, May 26. There will be strawberry wines, beer, cocktails and slushies, live music and food trucks. The event is free and everything is a la carte.
56th Annual ArtsFest 2024 – Harrisburg’s Artsfest is returning Memorial Day Weekend, May 25-27, in Riverfront Park. The 56th installment of the three-day festival will feature over 150 artisans and craftsmen from across the country, kids art classes, a community art project and more.
Central Pa Yoga Love Festival – The Amethyst Retreat Center in Duncannon, PA is hosting a Yoga Festival from May 25-27. The festival includes yoga classes, workshops, hiking, live music, healthy food, camping, drumming, dancing and more.
56th Artsfest returning to Harrisburg for Memorial Day Weekend
Hershey area
Cheesecake and wine flights – The Vineyard at Hershey is teaming up with The Urban Farmhouse for a pairing of cheesecake and wine flights on Saturday, May 25 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Carlisle area
Yoga + Sip Saturday – The Winery at the Long Shot Form is hosting Mella Luna Studios for an outdoor yoga session at the winery on Saturday, May 25 from 10-11 a.m. The class is $10, no registration is required and participants are asked to bring a yoga mat or towel.
The Brewery Comedy Tour at Hemauer – The Brewery Comedy Tour is coming to Hemauer Brewing Company this Saturday, May 25. Tickets are $20 at the door.
Gettysburg area
Living History: 2nd U.S. Calvary – Gettysburg National Military Park is holding a living history demonstration for the 2nd U.S. Calvary on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26. There will be an encampment, programs and firing demonstrations.
Horse-Drawn Carriage Tour – Silvershite Farm is offering one-hour horse-drawn carriage tours on Saturday, May 25. At the end of the tour, participants can meet the horses on the farm and feed them treats. There is a Memorial Day Weekend Special for a 10% discount.
Family Day at Spangler – The Gettysburg Foundation is having a free day of history and exploration at the George Spangler Farm & Field Hospital on Saturday, May 25. There will be living historians, Civil War encampments, Civil War medicine, Mr. G’s Ice Cream and family-friendly programming and activities.
Yoga in the Park – The first installment of weekly yoga classes at Rec Park begins Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m. Yoga will run from Saturday, May 25 – Sept. 28.
Gettysburg Natur Alliance Book Faire – On May 25 & 26 the Gettysburg Heritage Center will host a book fair featuring over twenty authors sharing stories on a wide array of historical subjects. There will be a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books.
Make Music Day in York County will bring musicians of all ages together
Lancaster area
Lancaster Loves the Library Festival – The Lancaster Loves the Library Festival will feature live music, food, face-painting, a photo booth, silent auctions, a books swa and more in support of Lancaster Library, Lancaster Pride and Lititz Chooses Love. The event will be Saturday, May 25 from 4-9 p.m.
11th Annual African American Cultural Parade – The African American Cultural Parade on Saturday, May 25 will feature food, vendors, live performances, the parade and more. The event starts at 3 p.m.
20th Annual Country Cruise & Fireman’s Festival – The Country Cruise & Fireman’s Festival at Oregon Dairy will be on Saturday, May 25 from 8 a.m. to noon. It’s $10 to register your car for the Classic Car Show with all proceeds benefiting West Earl Fire Co. The first 100 registered vehicles will get a goodie bag & dash plaque. There will also be kids’ fire engine rides.
Lancaster Symphony Orchestra free concert – The Lancaster Symphony Orchestra is holding a free Memorial Day Weekend Concert in Lititz Springs Park on Saturday, May 25 at 7 p.m. They will be playing patriotic tunes and crowd favorites.
Lebanon area
Clean Break Flyball and Underdog’s Memorial Day Flyball Tournament – This “fast-paced dog team relay sport” is coming to the Lebanon Valley Expo Center on Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 26 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. It is free to attend.
Kel Lee’s Trivia – Lebanon Valley Craft Brewery is hosting a trivia event on Sunday, May 26 from 2-3 p.m.
