Park your flying saucer or pet dragon at the Inner Harbor and gather with like-minded people at Balticon 2024 at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel, 202 E. Pratt St., this labor-day weekend. Programming for the 58th fantasy and science fiction convention includes publishing panels, cosplay, filk music, a dealers room and more. This year’s author guest of honor is L.E. See a new take on a classic at “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Everyman Theatre, 315 W. Take a make-believe ride in a hot air balloon and meet JJ, Cody and more friends at “CoComelon” Party Time at the Garage at R House, 301 W. 29th St., this weekend. Monday: Annapolis Memorial Day Parade
The home of the United States Naval Academy will honor those in the services who made the ultimate sacrifice at the Annapolis Memorial Day Parade. The free event starts at Amos Garrett Boulevard, goes down West Street to Church Circle and then onto Main Street to City Dock. After the conclusion of the parade, there will be a Memorial Day Ceremony at Susan Campbell Park, Dock Street.
