Therapy Mini Horse's Visit with Nursing Home Residents Is Such a Ray of Sunshine

Having therapy animals visit hospitals and nursing homes is a great way to brighten up a patient’s day. But one unexpected therapy animal is now making his way around nursing homes: an adorable therapy mini horse.

In a video posted on TikTok, several nursing home patients are shown sitting in chairs visiting with the tiny horse. They completely lit up at the sight of the little horse, kissing on him and petting him. He is so adorable—and is the perfect size to be visiting a nursing home.

This horse is doing more good than he will ever know by visiting these patients. He is so patient and clearly loves interacting with people. Therapy animal work is so important because it can bring many health benefits, including lowering blood pressure and soothing anxiety.

We can only imagine how excited the patients at the nursing home were when they realized that the special little horse was coming to see them. He even was able to go into the rooms of patients who couldn’t get up and walk around to go see the horse. When he got to the rooms, he put his face right down next to the patients lying in bed to say hello.

We can’t imagine how lonely it must be to be at a nursing home sometimes, especially if you’re a new patient. It must be a lot to get adjusted to, but luckily with the therapy horse, some of those worries could be quelled.

There’s no doubt that the patients really enjoyed having the therapy horse come to visit. He instantly lightened up their days and offered them something new and adorable to focus on. He was surely the talk of the nursing home!

We hope that this therapy horse is able to return to the nursing home soon. The residents loved him dearly, and he’s sure to get just as much attention as last time.
