Texas-style BBQ restaurant opens near LSU in Baton Rouge. Menu has brisket, pork, wings and more
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A new barbecue restaurant is open not too far from LSU’s campus.
Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, 630 Arlington Creek Center Blvd., Ste A, opened its doors on Wednesday, May 15.
Owner and operator, Scott Carlton said they picked the location for proximity to the campus, and the vibe of the Baton Rouge location is “a fun atmosphere serving legit Texas barbecue.”
Carlton said this is the first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in the Baton Rouge market but there are 550 other locations in the Dallas-based chain worldwide, including others in South Louisiana.
They took over the location that used to contain Crave Hot Dogs and BBQ. Carlton said they changed the look inside and added a hood and full-service bar.
Customers will be able to try brisket, chicken breast, pulled pork, sausage, wings and sides like mac and cheese and fries. See the full menu below this story.
Carlton said, “Once we have our licenses in place, we will have daily draft beer specials.” The 24-tap draft beer system will include local Baton Rouge and South Louisiana Craft beers.” They’re also planning a specialty cocktail menu that will use Louisiana spirits.
