Ten Rooms: A new multi-concept venue opens in Ybor City
Tampa, FL— This Saturday, April 27, a unique multi-experience venue is set to open its doors in Ybor City. Ten Rooms, founded by seasoned hospitality veterans Ro Patel and Zach Pace, brings a fresh take on the Tampa dining scene, featuring a fine-dining restaurant, cocktail bar, café, and retail space—all under one roof.
The opening of Ten Rooms comes at an ideal time, with Tampa recently recognized as one of the best cities for foodies, thanks in part to hosting the Florida Michelin awards and Ybor City’s ongoing revival. The venue is located in a registered historic landmark building, originally known as “El Centro Español de Tampa,” which dates back to 1891.
From Michelin Stars to Local Roots
The Ten Rooms team comprises industry leaders with Michelin-star credentials. Founder Ro Patel, who has over 15 years of experience in Tampa’s food and beverage industry, is known for his successful ventures like Ciro’s Speakeasy and Anise Global Gastro Bar. Chief Operating Officer Zach Pace brings his expertise from two-Michelin-star establishments like San Francisco’s Lazy Bear and Aphotic.
“Tampa is experiencing a culinary renaissance, and we’re excited to be at the forefront of that with Ten Rooms,” says Patel. He and Pace are joined by Michelin-starred executive chef Parker Brown, who has worked at renowned restaurants in Dubai and California, and chef de cuisine Vincent Brisotti, a Tampa native with extensive experience in New York City’s Michelin-starred establishments. Pastry chef Lorena Idrovo rounds out the team, having worked in some of the world’s most prestigious kitchens.
A Multifaceted Venue
Ten Rooms is designed to offer multiple experiences without physical partitions, creating a seamless flow between different concepts. Bar Martinez, the modern fine-dining restaurant, anchors the space, offering a mix of Southeastern and European influences. Its extensive menu features unique starters, entrées, and accompaniments. The beverage program includes over 125 wines from around the world and a selection of signature cocktails.
Genevieve the Cat, the sister bar, features local beers, a curated wine selection, and over 20 cocktails on tap. It offers a variety of happy hour drinks, making it a popular spot for an afternoon with friends or coworkers. The Café at Ten Rooms serves as a modern coffee shop and bakery, while The Shop offers boutique retail and art from local artisans.
A Bridge Between the Past and Future
Ten Rooms is more than just a multi-experience venue; it also plays a role in Ybor City’s cultural renaissance. The building’s historic elements, like original tilework and pressed tin ceilings, complement its contemporary design. The reimagined space, designed by Robert Ibarra of Alfonso Architects, is filled with natural light and features rotating art installations by local artists.
