Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is no longer shying away from living her life the way she wants to.

In her new cover story with TIME magazine after being named the publication's 2023 Person of the Year, the music superstar opened up about the media coverage surrounding her personal life, which we know has been cranked up a notch lately following her very public relationship with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce.

The pair's whirlwind romance and Swift's history-making Eras Tour have made the "Anti-Hero" singer the talk of the town this year, but she has noticeably appeared to be more comfortable in the public eye than previous years, whether it be for a night out in New York City or attending a game at Arrowhead Stadium.

When asked about the shift, Swift, 33, explained, "Over the years, I've learned I don't have the time or bandwidth to get pressed about things that don’t matter."

"Yes, if I go out to dinner, there’s going to be a whole chaotic situation outside the restaurant. But I still want to go to dinner with my friends," she continued, telling the outlet, "Life is short. Have adventures."

That's when she went on to express some regret for the way she used to handle public attention, and it's no secret that her previous relationship with ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn was intentionally kept very private.

"Me locking myself away in my house for a lot of years—I’ll never get that time back," she admitted. "I’m more trusting now than I was six years ago."

As we know, Swift and Alwyn went their separate ways earlier this year after a six-year relationship, which she kept away from the spotlight out of respect for the very private British actor.

But lately Swift has been enjoying life on her own terms, and she and Kelce are definitely not afraid to display their feelings for one another in public.

At this point, we've all seen the adorable videos of Swift cheering on Kelce from the crowd at his games, or running into his arms at the end of her Eras Tour performance in Argentina, and the Grammy winner appears to be living her best life through it all.

"This is the proudest and happiest I've ever felt," Swift gushed in the new interview, also noting that it's the "most creatively fulfilled and free" she's ever been.

And we're here for it!
