Taylor Swift Fuels Travis Kelce Romance Rumor With Birthstone Necklace

Taylor Swift was spotted out wearing an opal necklace, and, as always, eagle-eyed fans caught on and are digging into possibilities of the accessory's meaning.

Opal is October's birthstone, which, ironically, happens to be that of Travis Kelce's birth month, as the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was born on Oct. 5.

The "Look What You Made Me Do" singer was photographed stepping out in a black one-shoulder bodysuit paired with a grey mini skirt and knee-high boots—a teardrop-shaped opal necklace layered with other dainty gold chains in plain sight.

“Kelce is a libra and opal is our birthstone,” one Swiftie commented on @taylorswiftstyled’s Instagram post of the outfit, as another followed up, "opal is October birthstone and travis was born in October,” in part.

It should, however, be noted that Swift has always had an affinity for the stone. “When I was bullied in school, my mom used to take me to T.J. Maxx after school to look at the opal jewelry,” she told Us Weekly in 2016. “I thought opals were so beautiful, and somehow it made me feel better."

Dating rumors linking the NFL player to the pop star began to swirl after it was revealed earlier this month that the two have reportedly been "quietly hanging out," according to an alleged source who spoke with The Messenger.

Prior to that, Kelce had been vocal about his failed attempt to connect with Swift at one of her Eras Tour concerts. "I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butt hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her," he said during an episode of the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce podcast of not being able to slip the songstress his phone number during the July show.

In April, news that the "You're Losing Me" artist was no longer in her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn emerged, noting that the former couple had split over “major differences in their personalities.”

As for Kelce, the pro athlete is “in the free market right now. I’m out there just enjoying life, focused on my profession,” he said on The Pivot podcast earlier this year. Previously, the 33-year-old had briefly dated Catching Kelce reality show winner Maya Benberry, followed by a five-year relationship with sports broadcast journalist, Kayla Nicole.

Travis recently opened up about his feelings regarding his future on an episode of the Let’s Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari podcast, saying, “I can’t just meet somebody and just automatically think that forever is just a day away. I think it takes quite a bit of time for somebody to really get to know somebody and really get to find that affection and love for them.”

It looks like curious fans will just have to wait and see if this could, indeed, be the beginning of a "Love Story," but knowing Swift, who generally keeps details of her love life under wraps, it could be a while before we get any type of confirmation of a romantic connection.
