Footbed sandals are a great option for warm-weather footwear that isn’t flip-flops. Plus they’re usually more comfortable (and cute) than typical flat sandals. Birkenstocks are probably one of the most notable footbed sandals around with their easily recognizable two-strap style. In recent years they came out with an EVA option that made them a little cheaper, but they’re still around $50. And for a fifth of that price, Target has very similar EVA footbed sandals (with fantastic reviews to boot).

Target, on the other hand, fairly recently came out with a women’s swimsuit brand called Shade & Shore. In addition to bikinis and swimsuits, they sell cover-ups and sandals, including the Women's Neida EVA Two Band Footbed Slide Sandals. As stated before, they’re $10 and are a slip-on sandal with a strap over the toes and right before the ankle. They’re called “EVA” because they’re made of squishy plastic that feels like a harder version of Croc material. This type of foamy plastic makes up items like play mats, yoga blocks and, of course, a version of popular Birkenstocks.

Target markets the Neida footbed sandals as “great for gardening, errands or simply hanging in your yard,” mostly because they’re really easy to clean and can get wet without ruin. They come in seven colors—light blue, black, olive green, metallic silver, white, light green and vibrant pink—and in sizes 5 through 12 (but no half sizes). They’re also well-loved by Target shoppers, with almost 5,700 reviews and nearly 5 stars.

One reviewer wrote that they were "very cute for [the] price" and another said that “for the price - so cute for pool or beach.” And another shopper wrote that they “love the color choices” and have all of them except the olive. Now that’s dedication!

As we said up top, these are nearly identical to the Arizona Essentials EVA sandals by Birkenstock. There are a lot of variations of this EVA sandal from Birkenstock, and the cheapest is $49.95. This pair, of course, has the Birkenstock name on the buckles and the footbed, and the sole of the shoe is a bit more structured with foot outlines. It's made from EVA material as well (as the name suggests) and comes in so many vibrant colors we can’t name them all.

So for nearly the same sandal for a fifth of the price, Target’s Neida EVA Footbed Sandal is a no-brainer choice if you’ve been looking for comfy-yet-cheap sandals. Maybe it’s made with somewhat lower-quality materials, but for $10, who cares?

Also, bonus hack: One qualm a lot of reviews mentioned was the “fart” noise they made with walking around because of the plastic material. And one reviewer had the best fix:

"These are so comfortable! For those saying they are noisy… get yourself some Velcro strips and stick just the soft strip on the bed of the sandal where your arch would meet the sandal and “vacuum” to it, making the noise. I do this with my Birks as well and it works like a charm!"

Now you can peacefully go off and purchase these if you so choose and be without any embarrassing sounds.
