There’s just so much joy that comes from finding a skirt, dress or even pants with pockets. If you wear women’s clothing, you know the struggle of barely having pockets, let alone big, practical pockets. And that’s why the advent of the cargo pant (and by relation, the cargo skirt) is such a joyous time. Pants with not one, not two, but four or more big pockets?? A miracle in women’s fashion, truly. And with cargo skirts, the fact that there are pockets at all is just a chef’s kiss. Even better, one Target’s newest cargo skirts has shoppers in love and is so similar to a popular Free People skort. A win-win, if you will.

The skirt in question is the Women's Parachute Cargo Mini Skirt by Target’s trendy, Zillennial-focused brand, Wild Fable. The “parachute” skirt is made with a 100% poplin cotton material, which makes it feel similar to windbreaker material. It has an elastic waistband with a toggle drawstring at the front instead of a button and zipper situation. It’s a “mid-rise… casual fit” and has two glorious front cargo pockets.

The parachute cargo mini skirt is currently $20 and comes in three colors: green, black, light violet and off-white. It also comes in a great range of sizes, from XXS through 4X. And shoppers really seem to like it. One reviewer wrote that the skirt was “perfect” and “cute for the short thick girlies!!"

"So cute! I got in other colors!” Another reviewer wrote. “People talk about the drawstring being annoying or looking weird on the skirt! It does not bug me at all!"

Other shoppers said that it was “mini but not too mini” with a “light” fabric that allows you to “dress it up or down.” Another wrote that this skirt was “a must-have!!" and yet another said it was “perfect for summer!”

The consensus on this skirt seems to be all-around good, with 60 reviews and nearly a 5-star rating. And it doesn’t hurt that this skirt is similar to Athleta's Trekkie Skort ($69) and Free People’s Thru Hiker Skort. The latter $78 skort from their FP Movement brand has a similar cargo skirt construction, with two big pockets in the front. It’s also made from a water-resistant nylon that we’d assume feels similar to Target’s poplin cotton. It has a regular zipper closure and is made for hiking (as the name suggests). Athleta's skort is also listed as a hiking skort (which is apparently a thing now!) and seems to have a thicket fabric (made of nylon and spandex).

While Target’s Parachute Cargo Mini Skirt doesn’t have built-in shorts, and probably isn’t the best to hike or wear in high-movement situations, it would still be a great addition to your closet. From casual to dressed-up, Wild Fable’s cargo skirt will go far in your wardrobe.
