Slingback shoes are such a classic, they’ve never been out of style. But nonetheless, they’re currently having a resurgence in popularity thanks (in part) to Target. They have slingback ballet flats in so many different styles, and many look so high-end that they’re comparable to designer styles. And one of their newer styles looks so similar to a slingback flat by Dolce Vita (that costs over four times more than Target’s pair).

Target’s women’s apparel brand, A New Day, specializes in professional-looking attire and accessories. And their Women's Emerson Slingback Ballet Flats with Memory Foam Insole fits in with that aesthetic perfectly. These slingbacks have a pointed toe with a thin, buckle strap that “slings” around the back of your ankle to secure the shoe. It has a bit of an elevated flat thanks to the .5-inch block heel, and as the shoe’s name suggests, it also has a memory foam insole for comfort.

These $30 flats come in three colors (jet black faux leather, white and black) and various sizes. Some sizes are even on clearance for $25.50, online only. While the jet black and white styles are made with one solid color, the “black” color is actually made with a woven black and white raffia design. Target has gone all in on the raffia trend, as well, so it’s only natural that this woven, almost tweed-looking design is made with that plant-based material.

The reviews also show that shoppers are really digging these Emerson slingbacks. One reviewer wrote that the “Black/white is beautiful." And another titled their review: "Fashionable, Modern Take on a Classic Ballet Flat.”

"I purchased these shoes for my office job. I am in love!” they wrote. “These shoes are comfortable, versatile, and extremely flattering. I receive compliments literally every single time I wear them. The slingback is very on-trend, and the pointed toe is leg lengthening as well. They’re the perfect classic ballet flat, just with some awesome updates."

As we stated up top, these specific slingback ballet flats look pretty similar to the Narah Flats by Dolce Vita. These go for $130 and feature a wood-grain style heel, which stands out in comparison to Target’s flats. Even though they look taller with thicker heels, they’re actually only a .4-inch heel. But everything else is very similar, from the closed, pointed-toe covered with woven black and white raffia to the thin, buckled strap.

With those similarities and a very big difference in price, Target’s lookalike slingback is a good option. So if you want a solid yet stylish work shoe or just want something nice to throw on, Target’s Emerson Slingback Ballet Flats are the way to go.
