Target Gets Groomed: Menswear is Actually Cool Now

Dudes, rejoice—there’s a cool new menswear shop in town, and it’s not in some remote, underground Brooklyn neighborhood. In fact, it’s coming to your local Target!

The mega store just announced Target Collective, a collaborative project with six made-in-the-USA men’s brands including Billykirk, Owen & Fred, Taylor Stitch, Duluth Pack, Locally Grown, and Terrapin Stationers. If you haven’t heard of any of these labels, let us give you a little break down:

Billykirk: The longtime brand has been considered a number one provider for anything leather from belts to bags. For their Target collaboration, Billykirk offers an assortment of affordable accessories including genuine leather key chains with brass and silver hardware. Perfect for keeping your things organized in style.

Owen & Fred: This Brooklyn-based company transforms boring bags into fun totes that come in super cool colors and patterns. For $44, the bags are perfect for travel or just day-to-day grooming.  The camouflage shave kit is bound to be dopp bag companions for many men.

Taylor Stitch: Brought to you from San Francisco, Taylor Stitch provides some of the best men’s staples, such as denim and chino pants. The company started out by partnering  with small family businesses that have been manufacturing custom shirts for over 85 years. This gig landed them a job with Target, where the team created clean-cut chinos for all for just $98.

Duluth Pack: Target is bringing you the go-to handcrafted bag that’s been around since 1882. Made for everyone from soldiers to camping scouts, Target offers a fashionable take on a simple backpack so you don’t have to sacrifice your style when you lug your math books to class. The bag looks best in Olive with multiple straps and leather finish for $115.

Locally Grown: Are you eco-conscious and picky about your fabrics? Target is bringing you a fun and graphic collection by the brand Locally Grown. The label has created hats and T-shirts, some of which deliver strong messages of how to help the environment. Best of all, the products have been manufactured with sustainable materials so that basic T-shirt is so, so soft (and only $32)!

Terrapin Stationers: For nearly a century, the family-run Terrapin Stationers have produced embossed stationary in New York. Now they’ve created some graphic (and pretty witty) stationary for anyone—not just guys! Starting at only $10, spruce up the office with a touch of humor or say thank you in the funniest way possible.
