Tahoe Resorts Reporting 4 Inches Of Overnight Snow, More On The Way

Tahoe Daily Snow reported that the storm exactly delivered. No more, no less for resorts around Lake Tahoe.

The forecasting site wrote, "we expected 0-3" of snow to fall overnight and the ski areas are reporting 0-4" Thursday morning. So no surprises from the first round of snow with this storm."

Many resorts are almost to their seasonal average of snowfall, and a few have exceeded this average.

Sugar Bowl, for example, exceeded its seasonal average with 465 inches of snow falling this season, putting it at 103% of normal snowpack. Sugar Bowl received 4 inches from the latest pattern, the most of any resort besides Palisades Tahoe.

Mt. Rose is also at 103%, slightly over its seasonal average. Mt. Rose has received 381 inches of snow this season and received 3 inches from the latest weather pattern.

Still others are almost at their averages, such as Boreal (92%), Homewood (92%), and Palisades Tahoe (89%).

The snow is supposed to increase again today.

Although a few flakes have fallen, it does not appear to be dumping--yet.

OpenSnow is calling for 10 inches at Palisades Tahoe over the next 4 days, with snow Thursday and flurries on Friday.

But things can always change.
