‘Sweet Magnolias’ Star JoAnna Garcia Swisher Has Big Career News Ahead of Season 4

JoAnna Garcia Swisher is famous for being in front of the camera with roles on Reba and Sweet Magnolias. But in a surprise move from her, the actress announced she has something in the works behind the scenes.
When she's not busy working on season 4 of Sweet Magnolias, JoAnna is providing a look into her at-home life thanks to her lifestyle brand, The Happy Place. Well, according to an announcement made by Deadline, she's now expanding her digital platform to include a production element. Called THP Entertainment, it will expand her site's book club (THP Reads) and bring some of the works to life on screen. What's more, she plans to co-run the company alongside her longtime business partner and co-founder Kate Gordon, who the outlet notes has experience working in talent management, media production and digital content creation.
Shortly after Deadline dropped the big news, JoAnna expressed her joy by posting screenshots of the article on Instagram. "I’m so happy to finally share the next chapter of @thehappyplace," she wrote on March 19. "We cannot wait to bring a new dimension of our story telling to life through our production arm THP Entertainment!"
When fans saw the Once Upon a Time alum taking her brand to a new level, they immediately expressed their support.
"Best. News. Ever. Cheers to you!!! 🥂 🥂🥂," one person wrote on Instagram. "Your drive and dedication pays off again! So happy for you Jo 👏🏽😊," another replied. "Eeeeek!!! So excited for you! Congratulations!!" a different follower added.
While THP Entertainment is very new, JoAnna and Kate already have their first project in the works. The two are taking their March 2022 THP Reads pick, Ladies of the House by Lauren Edmonson, and turning it into a TV series. According to Deadline, the show will follow a senator's wife and adult daughters as they balance their public and private lives after the patriarch dies under questionable circumstances.
We're absolutely thrilled for JoAnna, and we can't wait to see what else is in store!
