Surf Art Expo continues on Memorial Day

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The 15th annual Virginia Beach Surf Art Expo continues through Memorial Day, helping kick off the summer season at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

The event, which is taking place on the Virginia Beach boardwalk from 3rd through 7th streets, is labeled as the largest surf art show on the East Coast. Photos below were taken by Dawn Horton and Gillian O’Connell

Surf art from all mediums, including painting, photography, jewelry, sculpture and more are available to buy, with each artist having a connection with surfing, the ocean, beach life and or coastal scenes.

The show features more than 70 local and regional artists from Main to Florida who “capture the essence of summer in their art.”

The event is being held in conjunction with the Coastal Edge Steel Pier Classic, which is taking place at the 1st Street Jetty.
