This Stunning New Greek Island Hotel Has Suites With Secluded Terraces, Private Pools, and Views of the Aegean Sea

Andronis Hotels expanded its footprint on the buzzy Cyclades island.

It’s shaping up to be another record-breaking summer for tourism in Greece, and Paros is getting plenty of attention. The Cyclades island in the central Aegean Sea has seen a steady rise in visitors over the last few years, thanks to its charming seaside villages and the crystal blue water surrounding some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches — it’s no wonder Travel + Leisure readers named it one of their 25 favorite islands in the world in 2023.

Adding to Paros’s draw, the 44-suite Andronis Minois just opened in early May. After acquiring the Minois Hotel Paros in 2023, the reopening marks the first property in Paros for Andronis Hotels, the family-owned collection of luxury hotels and villas in Santorini, and a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

“We are proud and excited to welcome Andronis Minois into our collection,” George Filippidis, managing director of Andronis Hotels, said in a statement provided to T+L, adding that it’s “one of the most unique properties on Paros.”

Set a little over 500 feet from the water’s edge, Andronis Minois is the first beachfront location for the hotel group. Suites come with secluded terraces, and multi-bedroom accommodations have private swimming pools.

In public spaces, guests will find a central pool trimmed by cabanas and a lounge deck, an outdoor gym stocked with workout gear, and — for those looking to relax beyond lounging on a private patio with views of the Aegean Sea, the subterranean Aura spa offers treatments like massages and salt scrubs.

On site fine-dining restaurant Olvo is also a new concept for the brand, with dishes like beef tartare, and seabream that mesh traditional Cycladic cuisine with Nikkei and Peruvian influences. The wine list features a robust selection of bottles from Paros, neighboring islands Naxos and Santorini, and Greece at large.

The property’s design also blends traditional Cycladic architecture — those iconic white cubic structures — with something new for Andronis Hotels: more modern, vivid interiors from art, furniture, and textiles. Handcrafted washbasins and colorful tiles marking room numbers were made by Athens-based A Mano Creations, for example, and earthenware cups, bowls, and vases were handmade by Ea Ceramics, based on the island of Crete. On walls throughout the property, find minimalist works by artist Alexandra Papadimouli of the Round Button, inspired by the Cyclades.

When it comes to entertainment, on-property activities include kitesurfing and diving, but off-site, there are winery tours and horseback riding, and visitors are encouraged to explore the beautiful island.

“Paros combines Greek island architecture and Cycladic aesthetics with its picturesque villages such as Lefkes, beautiful golden beaches, and a lively nightlife in Naoussa,” Filippidis told T+L. Since Paros doesn’t have an international airport, he added, “You can take it as slow as you want strolling around villages that you can only enter on foot, or swim at an isolated beach such as Molos or Agios Sostis.”

Rates for the 2024 season start at $400/night.
