Prince William and his 10-year-old son, Prince George, cheering on their favorite soccer team from the sidelines sounds like a fun day to me, a self-proclaimed royally obsessed fan.

While the Prince of Wales’s three children (George, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5) are enjoying their school break this week following the Easter holiday, the 41-year-old royal decided to take the young prince to a soccer game, where Aston Villa (aka their fave team) faced off against Lille OSC during the UEFA Europa Conference League 2023/24 quarterfinal match in Birmingham (per People).

One snapped photo (see below) shows the father-son duo standing up from their seats and clapping as their team scores a goal. Prince William is sporting a blue jacket with a navy blue sweater vest and collared shirt underneath. Meanwhile, Prince George (looking like his father’s mini-me yet again) is wearing a similar blue jacket, a burgundy shirt and a blue scarf wrapped around his neck.

Another snap shows the pair looking extremely focused as they watch the two teams face off against each other. In the end, Aston Villa won the game with a score of 2-1. (Goooo, team!)

These striking images of Prince William and his son (who we haven’t seen much of following Kate Middleton’s abdominal surgery announcement back in January) come only a few weeks after Princess Catherine confirmed her cancer diagnosis.

In an emotional video shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram page last month, the 42-year-old princess said to the camera, “In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful, however, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

She continued, “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I'm now in the early stages of that treatment.”
