Stark County: Here's how to donate your solar eclipse glasses

You don’t have to throw your eclipse glasses away. Instead, consider donating your pair.

Eclipse Glasses USA and Astronomers Without Borders will accept donations of undamaged eclipse glasses.

Eclipse Glasses USA is collecting eclipse glasses to send to schools in Latin America for children to view the October 2024 annular eclipse.

You can ship your pair to: Eclipse Glasses USA LLC, P.O. Box 50571, Provo, Utah, 84605. They must be shipped by Aug. 1.

Astronomers Without Borders distributes glasses to communities and schools internationally for people that may not otherwise have access to safe viewing methods during eclipses.

After the 2017 solar eclipse across the U.S., the nonprofit distributed donated glasses to schools in South America, Africa and Asia that were in the path of solar eclipses.

To donate eclipse glasses to Astronomers Without Borders, drop off your pair at one of their collection locations. The closest locations to Stark County are the Dover Public Library at 525 N. Walnut St., the Twinsburg Public Library in Twinsburg and Warby Parker Pinecrest in Beachwood. More locations are being added, according to the organization's website.
