The Stanley Cup Makes Surprise Appearance At One Of Montana's Iconic Ski Resorts

The Stanley Cup is arguably one of the greatest trophies in sports- How many trophies have their own personal caretaker? The Cup is a celebrity in its own right.

In one of the cooler things to happen this year, The Cup made a surprise appearance at Whitefish Mountain Resort, MT on Friday, December 29th.

Check out the photos of the cup's jaunt around Whitefish below:

Whitefish Mountain Resort is owned by billionaire Bill Foley under Foley Entertainment Group. Foley also owns the reigning Stanley Cup champion Las Vegas Golden Knights.

Whitefish Mountain Resort Public Relations Manager Chad Sokol commented on the Cup's visit to the resort:

"We're stoked the Vegas Golden Knights won the championship and sent this iconic piece of sports history to Whitefish Mountain Resort, and it was awesome to share it with hundreds of guests who lined up to take photos and see it with their own eyes.

The Cup even took a chairlift ride up to our summit, where it glimmered in the morning sun with the peaks of Glacier National Park as its backdrop. A lot of hockey fans made memories on Big Mountain today!"

It's unclear where the Stanley Cup is headed next, but there's no doubt that its visit to Whitefish Mountain Resort was one its more unique stops of 2023.

The only thing sweeter would have been to see a Whitefish local like Tanner Hall or Maggie Voisin skiing powder in Hellroaring with the Stanley Cup in their hands.

Next time. There's always a next time.
