Spiritual life: SHINE Preschool program planned for May 22

LA GRANDE — On Wednesday, May 22, SHINE Preschool will be having a closing program as it approaches the end of this school year. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in La Grande. Contact the church to learn more about registering for next year at Faith Lutheran's SHINE Preschool.

Faith Lutheran Church will recognize the Holy Trinity on Sunday, May 26. The Gospel reading will be from John chapter 3.

In this passage a Jewish religious leader, named Nicodemus, was intrigued with what Jesus had been doing so he met with Jesus privately. In this meeting Nicodemus became further intrigued with what Jesus was saying and said, "How can these things be?" Jesus was talking about being "born from above (born again)" (John 3:7), which Nicodemus' question was specifically addressing. However, in Christianity the truth of a Triune God has Christians live by faith, due to humankind's limited facilities.
