Small Dog Captivates the World After Staying by Deceased Hiker's Side for 72 Days

As we know, dogs are extremely loyal to their owners and wouldn't leave their side for anything, even if they're deceased.

On November 15, the TikTok account @outtherecolorado reported about such a case in southwest Colorado. A small dog named Finney stayed with her deceased owner for 72 days and was still thriving. Let's find out more!

This is so heartfelt!

Finney is only 7 pounds! And she stayed with her beloved owner for 72 days, not having any access to food.

Finney's owner, Richard Moore, who was an avid outdoor person and hiker, didn't make it home after his last hike to summit Blackhead Peak in August and died at age 71 in the mountains.

Although a rescue team was searching for him, they couldn't locate him until a hunter stumbled across Moore's body, spotting Finney close to Moore.

An alive but weak Finney didn't want to leave Moore's side and bared her teeth at the hunter; therefore, the hunter was unable to catch her but told the rescue team the exact location.

Once the rescue team arrived, they were able to coax her into coming with them by providing wet dog food since she was extremely malnourished.

According to @outtherecolorado, Finney was able to survive because she drank water from a nearby stream and ate rodents and insects, not her owner, as some would have suspected.

We are happy to hear that Finney is now back with Moore's family and is safe and sound.

Stories like Finney's are proof of how loyal dogs are and how strong a bond between a human caretaker and dog can be.
