Last night, Shakira celebrated the release of her 12th studio album—her first in nearly a decade—along with her team, close friends, and loved ones. And she ushered in the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran era the way only she could: in an incredible, sparkly little black dress. Did someone say revenge dress?

The piece was a velvet mini in a deep midnight black, embellished with silver sequin designs in harlequin-esque swirls and a big shining star in the middle, further adorned with a giant circular crystal. She put a casual spin on her look by wearing the statement dress with casual black stiletto booties, diamond and gold chainlink earrings, a sculptural silver cuff, and various rings.

Her hair was down in her signature loose waves and she wore rosy makeup, including a milky pink lip.

“After life’s ups and downs, and a long time working on this album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is finally out now worldwide. Thank you all for the incredible support you have given me. Without you, I wouldn’t have made it - we have crafted this album together. You are the best pack a shewolf could have asked for. I love you. 💋🐺” the singer captioned an Instagram post including photos from the celebratory evening.

Shakira’s new album is a deep-dive into the Colombian singer’s many stages of grief following her split from longtime partner Gerard Piqué. While eight of the tracks had already been released, the second half is a rollercoaster ride with spicy turns, upbeat highs, and slow, heartbreaking dips. The title of the album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, meaning women no longer cry, comes from a lyric in her hit “Bzrp Music Session #53” which reads, “Las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan,” or, “women no longer cry, women cash in”
