Serena Williams is in the business of making women feel like their strongest, most powerful selves. Her ammunition? Clothes that look beautiful on everybody, flatter all body types, and are just really cool.

“I really wanted to make something for women to turn fear into courage and turn doubt into confidence,” says Serena of the latest iteration of her S by Serena collection. “That’s what not only this collection, but our brand is about — being who you are and being your best self.” You can browse her collection on Yahoo Shopping and score a 15 percent discount with the code YAHOO15.

From her universally flattering dresses to duster coats, matching sets and playful jumpsuits, Serena, who debuted her spring collection at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, is daring women to take risks in fashion and in their lives. When Serena invited her friends to try on her best-selling Kayla Blazer Dress, available in sizes XS to 3X and designed to flatter all body types, she said, “we can all feel and see how one outfit can look so good on different personalities and body shapes.”

Driven by fellow powerful female leaders like costume designer Ruth E. Carter, Vogue Editor in Chief Anna Wintour, and her sister Venus, Serena wants her designs to inspire an aha moment in women — “That moment where they believe in themselves and push themselves,” Serena says.

Perhaps most importantly, though, she wants to pass this sense of fearlessness onto her two-year-old daughter, Olympia. “I hope that what Olympia takes from these women leaders today is to have confidence and be bold and to never doubt herself, because I think it’s really important as women that we don’t doubt ourselves and we have high expectations.”

The main takeaway for Olympia? “Don’t be afraid to have high expectations and don’t be afraid to dream big.”
