Senior Mini Horse Sweetly Asks Mom for Kisses While Having His Coat Brushed

There are so many joys that come with being an animal owner. There are long days and early mornings, but the benefits are well worth it — especially when they show you affection. Just take one woman who got the sweetest nuzzle from her senior mini horse while caring for him recently. Luckily for us she got the whole adorable moment on camera.

As horse owner Sarah Dee definitely knows, sometimes caring for your animals can sort of be a grind. But all the hard work in the world is worthwhile when your animal loves you like this.

In the clip Sarah shared, it shows her gently brushing her miniature horse Deano Magapint, when he ever so slightly leaned his head towards her. He did it several times while Sarah was brushing him, which she knew was her signal to give him a little kiss on the muzzle.

"Watch my mini horse, Deano Magapint, ask for kisses while he gets his scraggly winter/spring coat in order," she wrote in the onscreen caption.

"My sweet baby boy. Rescued senior with cushions needs a little extra love," she added in the caption.

The scene was just so beautiful. Every animal is capable of giving and receiving love.

Caring for a Mini Horse

They're tiny, they're cute, they have surprisingly big personalities — mini horses could steal pretty much anyone's heart. Sure, they may be smaller than other horses, but their diminutive size doesn't mean they need any less care.

A well-loved mini horse can live into their 30s, but have different metabolic and physiological needs than their peers. For instance, most mini horses tend to be on the heavy side. It's very rare to see a thin mini horse, they tend to be obese. Owners should take care not to let their minis feed too much and take an accurate count of how much they weigh. Some owners may believe their minis weigh more than they really do and therefore will feed them too much.

Minis can also have dentals issues, after all they have the same number of teeth as their larger peers but in a much smaller space. Minis can sometimes even retain their baby teeth, leading to drooling or difficulty chewing.

Proper care of a mini horse means making sure they get proper exercise, dental care, hoof care, and general attention to their well-being. The perk of all this labor, however, is that minis are definitely super easy to love.
